Welcome to First-Year Living Learning Communities!

Where the same group of students share common classes related to an academic or personal interest. And, these classes fulfill requirements for University Studies (the undergraduate core curriculum required for all UNCW students). Learn More!



Major Focused LLCs

These communities include classes that that will help get you started on your major track! They are great options for students who know what they might want to major in!

For the Fall 2021 semester the Exploring Business and 1 section of the STEM LLC's have been converted to Special Topic UNI 101's; they will no longer be connected to 2 additional classes. The housing deadline has passed so students will be housed based on their current assignment.


Leadership, Service & Equality Focused

These Living Learning Communities are focused on inspiring emerging leaders through active community service and civic engagement.

Some LLC's Converting to Special Topic UNI 101's

The following Living Learning Communities will be converted to Special Topic UNI 101's and no longer connected to 2 additional courses for the Fall 2021 semester:  

  • University Studies Focused LLC's (Right to Protest, Global Waves, Mindfulness, Stretching Your Mind and Sustainable Seahawks)
  • Major Focused LLC's (Exploring Business, STEM: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics
  • Leadership, Service and Equality Focused LLC's (LEAD)

Application Closed

The Living Learning Community Application for the Fall 2021 semester has closed. If you are still interested in a learning community please speak with an academic advisor at orientation. Housing assignments have already been completed for the Fall 2021 semester, adding a learning community during orientation will not change your housing placement.
