FaithAction ID Event

UNCW Latino Alliance and community partners are launching the first FaithAction ID drive in Wilmington and New Hanover County.

The FaithAction ID Drive provides a verifiable form of identification cards to individuals who need access to government-issued forms of identification. Law enforcement, health centers, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and cultural arts organizations can use the cards to better identify, serve and protect individuals.

The event will be held Jan. 27-28 at Christ Community Church, 4555 Fairview Drive, Wilmington. Individuals seeking identification cards must make an appointment and register at

Community partners involved in FaithAction ID are:

  • New Hanover County Office of Diversity and Equity
  • City of Wilmington Office of Equity and Inclusion
  • Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
  • Wilmington Police Department 
  • New Hanover County Sheriff
  • UNCW University Police Department 
  • Good Shepherd Center
  • New Hanover County Schools

Other services available during the drive include:

  • Ident-a-Kid, led by New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department, provides the ID for minors (FaithAction ID is only for 18+)
  • Food/non-perishables provided by Nourish NC
  • Vitals medical check-up provided by Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
  • Flu and COVID-19 vaccines provided by New Hanover County Health Department
  • Several other services and information provided by other local nonprofits
