Theatre Presents “Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood”

Friday, March 01

The UNCW Department of Theatre continues their 2018-19 production season with “Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood,” a new take on a centuries-old tale.

In this production, Robin Hood is actually Marian in disguise, the Merry Men question their sexual identities as well as the appropriate level of “merriness” they should display while pillaging, and Nottingham’s guards spend more time playing pranks on one another and contemplating alternative means of employment than they do guarding.

Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood” runs Feb. 21-24 and Feb. 28-March 3 on the Mainstage Theatre in UNCW’s Cultural Arts Building. Show times are 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Sunday performances at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for the general public; $12 for seniors, UNCW alumni, faculty and staff; and $6 for students. Tickets are available for purchase at the Kenan Box Office, by calling 910.962.3500 or online. Tickets can also be bought in person one hour before each show.

Please note this play contains strong language, adult situations and violence, and is not recommended for young children.
