Leadership Lecture Series Presents CNN Political Commentators Sally Kohn and Tara Setmayer

Monday, March 19

Additional Information

UNCW will welcome CNN political commentators Sally Kohn and Tara Setmayer to campus on March 19 as part of Campus Life and Arts programming. Their presentation will take place at 7 p.m. in the Burney Center and is co-sponsored by the Mimi Cunningham Speaker Series Endowment of the Department of Communication Studies; Women's Studies and Resource Center; UNCW Historical Society; Feminist Student Alliance; University Political Action Committee and Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.

Kohn and Setmayer are known to bring spirited debate about some of today’s most pressing issues to television and live audiences. Through their unique and engaging presentations, the two offer insights and perspective on partisan issues ranging from climate change to tax cuts. The frequent sparring partners demonstrate that it is possible to “disagree without being disagreeable.”

The Leadership Lecture Series invites participants to engage in diverse political, cultural and economic discourse and stay informed about topics that affect the world around them. In addition to the lectures, class visits and other events are planned.

Tickets are free for UNCW faculty, staff and students and $10 for the general public. They are available through the Sharky's Box Office and Game Room and may be picked up and/or purchased in the lobby the evening of the event.

Past speakers include Jerry Greenfield, half of the famous duo that created Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and Piper Kerman, critically acclaimed author of memoir-turned-Netflix-series Orange is the New Black.
