Feast Down East to Host 4th Annual “Raise the Barn” Dinner
Saturday, May 20
Additional Information
Feast Down East, an organization that began in 2006 as a program in UNCW’s Department of Sociology and Criminology, will host its fourth annual “Raise the Barn” dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 20 at the New Hanover County Arboretum.
“Raise the Barn” is Wilmington’s premier farm-to-fork event, serving locally sourced dishes prepared by the area's top chefs. The event will feature a tapas-style gourmet dinner using ingredients grown and raised by area farms and fisheries, an open bar featuring local beer and wine, dancing, games, and live music by Brothers Egg. The benefit gala is a unique opportunity to meet farmers and chefs leading Wilmington’s local food movement.
Admission to “Raise the Barn” is $115 per person. Tickets are available for purchase online. All proceeds will help Feast Down East connect small-scale farms to local markets and improve access to healthy foods in underserved communities.
