2023 Razor Walker Award Nominations – Accepted Through Dec. 16
The Watson College of Education at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is pleased to announce plans for the 29th annual Razor Walker Awards. Each year, it is an honor for the Watson College to recognize and celebrate people whose work enhances the lives of children, families and communities in North Carolina.
The awards are named in recognition of the “razor’s edge” that extraordinary people walk in service to the children and youth of our state in a range of public service areas. Candidates may be individuals, businesses or community organizations. Each nominee should exemplify the characteristics of vision, tenacity, sacrifice and courage and have made a significant positive impact on the lives of others. Our hope is that we have a range of nominees who represent impact at the local, regional, and state levels.
Razor Walker service awards are presented in the following categories:
- Arts/Literature
- Law
- Public Service/Policy
- Business
- Medicine, Health and Wellness
- Teaching/Research
- Educational Leadership
- Philanthropy
If you know of an individual, business or community organization that seems highly qualified for this award, we invite you to complete a nomination form and return it, along with a narrative outlining the candidate’s qualifications, by Friday, December 16, 2022. Please be sure to provide enough detail to assist the committee in reviewing your nomination.
Nominations may be sent via mail, fax, or email. If you have any questions, please contact Natalie Lucero at luceron@uncw.edu or 910.962.3354.
The 2023 awards will be presented at a Razor Walker Awards Ceremony in April.
Thank you for helping UNCW’s Watson College of Education identify, recognize and celebrate those whose work enhances the lives of children, families and communities in North Carolina.
