Carly Kanzler

Carly Kanzler is a music educator in New Hanover County Schools with 14 years of experience teaching general music and chorus at the elementary and middle school levels. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from UNCW and her Master's in Music Education from East Carolina University. In 2010, she became a National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle Childhood Music.

Carly is currently the music teacher at Eaton Elementary School in Wilmington where she was honored to be the 2010-11 Teacher of the Year and New Hanover County finalist. In 2014, she was chosen as a member of the Governor's Teacher Network where she created original music lesson units published by the North Carolina Department of Instruction and shared with teachers throughout the state on their digital platform, SchoolNet. She is also an Orff-Schulwerk certified teacher.

Carly has gained experience teaching at the post-secondary level as a teaching consultant for UNCW's Music Department and the Watson School of Education, as well as serving as a UNCW partnership teacher for many years. Mrs. Kanzler's educational interests include music and arts research, teacher leadership, and technology integration.
