Peter Hunt

Peter Hunt is a graduate of UNCW, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Film Production and a certification in Elementary Education. He has been a first grade teacher at Carolina Beach Elementary School for nine years. He earned his National Board Certification in 2017. In addition to teaching, Mr. Hunt is a New Hanover County Schools Emerging Leader, a beginning teacher mentor, and a member of the NHCS Rookie of the Year committee. He was voted teacher of the year for his school in 2015 and was a county finalist in the area of Elementary Education.

He has a passion for student-driven learning, teacher leadership, and technology integration. He has presented at NCTIES and NHCS Summer Institute on the topics of robotics and digital assessment tools. He currently cohosts a podcast called Learn, Lead, Listen which features teacher leaders from across the district. He continues to research new ways to use technology to make learning accessible for all students.
