Asian Heritage Cultural Center

 The Asian Heritage Cultural Center at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is designed to be an inclusive space that supports students’ engagement with the university, facilitates and strengthens our cross-cultural relationships across campus and in the community and provides co-curricular programming that will enrich our understanding of Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures and histories

Our Goals:

Student Support

  • To provide Academic Support for our students through Academic Advising, Academic and Service Referrals, and Academic Liaison and Advocacy services to our students as they pursue their undergraduate and graduate degrees at UNCW.
  • To provide an inclusive and welcoming space for all students interested in the Asian and Pacific Islander cultures.
Education and Programming
  • To provide co-curricular programming that shares the histories and culture(s) of people of Asian and Pacific Islander descent.  These educational programs will strengthen our knowledge about the cultures, historical framework, and current situations of Asian American and Pacific Islander countries.
Community Connections
  • To serve as bridge between the university and community to educate about Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. 
Student amenities at the Center:
  • Conference room table set up with seating for 6
  • Virtual meeting capabilities
  • Refrigerator and microwave for student lunch storage and preparation
  • Computer workstations for studying and research
  • Printing Services:  2 color printers for students to use
  • Whiteboard for student collaborative work
  • Living room area with television for special events and student gatherings
  • Coffee and Tea service
  • Student resource area containing a wide array of books and Asian cultural items
