Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research: The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to undergraduate and graduate students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Funds may be used for research (equipment, etc.) and travel expenses. DEADLINE: March 15 October 1st annually; Click here to apply.

Amgen Scholars Program: Provides faculty-mentored summer research opportunities for undergraduates focused on science and biotechnology. The summer experience is anchored by a national symposium held at UCLA, and all Scholars attend; Click here for more information.

Psi Chi Undergraduate Research Grants: Psi Chi is an international honor society in psychology. All undergraduate Psi Chi members are eligible to apply for these undergraduate research grants. The purpose of this program is to provide funds for members to defray the cost of conducting a research project. An annual total of $75,000 is available in funding for student research projects. Tri-Beta National Biological Honor Society: Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. National Science Foundation: The National Science Foundation funds research and education in most fields of science and engineering. It does this through grants, and cooperative agreements to more than 2,000 colleges, universities, K-12 school systems, businesses, informal science organizations, and other research organizations throughout the United States. The Foundation accounts for about one-fourth of federal support to academic institutions for basic research.
