The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is one amazing opportunity that helped me to spend two awesome academic semesters in the Dominican Republic. Without this scholarship it may not have been possible. It is awarded to those undergraduates receiving or who will receive the Federal Pell Grant, have been or are applying to a study-abroad programs that will last for at least four weeks, are in good academic standing and not studying in countries on the State Department's Travel Warning List. It is a wonderful opportunity which requires a fun Follow-On Project within six months of returning home. I recommend that everyone who is interested find more info here.
