The Office of Transition Programs is excited to offer UNCW staff the opportunity to assist with one or more commencement ceremonies this spring. Box meals will be provided. Please complete the Commencement Assistance form by April 22, 2022 to be considered for this opportunity.
Front of House Shift Opportunities
Commencement assistants are needed to scan guest tickets, pass out programs, and assist guests who need help finding seats.
- Friday, May 13 - CAS Ceremony 1 (11:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.)
- Friday, May 13 - CAS Ceremony 2 (3:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.)
- Saturday, May 14 - CHHS and CSB/WCE Ceremonies (7:45 - 11:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.)
Back of House Shift Opportunities
Commencement Assistants are needed to help with day-of graduate name card pick-up and assist with graduate line-up.
- Friday, May 13 - CAS Ceremony 1 (11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.)
- Friday, May 13 - CAS Ceremony 2 (3:45 - 5:15 p.m.)
- Saturday, May 14 - CHHS and CSB/WCE Ceremonies (7:45 - 9:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.)
May 2022 Commencement Assistance Meeting
All Commencement Assistants are required to attend the training session on Monday, May 9 from 2-3 p.m. in the Azalea Coast Room in the Fisher University Union.
Commencement Assistant Compensation
Commencement is an essential campus-wide program designed to recognize and celebrate graduates of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. This momentous occasion, welcoming more than 15,000 graduates and guests this spring requires significant commitment from faculty and staff at the university. As such, the following compensation policies are in place to ensure fair and consistent compensation for employees who serve as a Commencement Assistant above and beyond their assigned role at UNCW. Employees should obtain permission from their supervisor to flex their time during the work week (5/9/2022 to 5/15/2022) to offset the additional time worked. (read more) |

Compensation will be based on the employee’s hourly rate for their primary assignment. (read more) |
