Social Work Professor Chris Hall

CHHS Professor Selected to be Visiting Professor at Vytautas Magnus University School of Social Work

Dr. Chris Hall will be a visiting professor at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) School of Social Work located in Kuanas, Lithuania.

During Hall’s two-week visiting professorship at VMU, he will teach the course Social Constructionism and Social Work Practice to Lithuanian social work students. He will also be a guest speaker for the Annual Social Work Conference of Lithuania on the topic of cybernetics and social work clinical practice. This talk will come from Hall’s recently published chapter in the Encyclopedia of Social Work titled Practice Cybernetics, as well as his publication in the journal Social Work: Experience and Methods titled A comparison and blending of the countercultural practice models: Structural and narrative social work. The publication will be in English, French and Lithuanian.

Dr. Hall was invited to be a visiting professor following a training he held for VMU faculty in spring 2016 on social constructionist informed practice. He first connected with VMU through his work as a board member of the Global Partnership for Transformative Social Work, which is dedicated to the advancement of social constructionist informed research and practice.
