CHHS T-shirt Walkabout winners 2016

Third Annual CHHS T-shirt Walkabout Winners Announced

Congratulations to the winners of the Third Annual CHHS T-Shirt Walkabout Contest!

International Photo Category: Dr. Alexia Franzidis (left)

Alexia and her study abroad class submitted several photos from Borobudur. Borobudur is a UNESCO World Heritage site constructed in the 9th century. Located in Central Java in Indonesia, Borobudur is the world’s largest Buddhist temple and has the largest and most complete ensemble of Buddhist reliefs in the world. Java is largely a Muslim island so Borobudur is a pretty significant temple and symbol of how harmonious the people of Indonesia are. It is also Indonesia's most-visited tourist attraction.

Domestic Photo Category: Jane Anderson (right)

Jane travelled to Seattle, Washington to see her son and daughter-in-law. This troll in the photo is under a bridge, a haven for drug dealers. To solve the problem, area artists created this troll as in the Three Billy Goats Gruff story. The billy goats are a block away, crafted from sheet metal. Now the area is a tourist site, much safer for the neighborhood and fascinating for children of all ages.
