Colette WaddillCollette Waddill earned her ADN degree from John Tyler Community College, completed her BS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her MSN – Nurse Education from the University of Phoenix.  She has a postgraduate education certificate in health care simulation education from Bryan College of Health Sciences. Waddill is currently enrolled in the DNP program at Gardner-Webb University. She serves as a clinical instructor in the prelicensure fundamentals course and an instructor in the online RN-BSN program for capstone and transcultural nursing. Waddill’s nursing practice has been primarily in labor and delivery, postpartum, high-risk antepartum, newborn nursery and the neonatal care stepdown unit.  

Waddill taught nursing at Cape Fear Community College in the classroom and the simulation laboratory as well as led clinical rotations on medical-surgical, orthopedic, neuroscience, oncology and pediatric units. She is also involved in other enterprises, which include lactation consulting, property management, building and remodeling, and bookkeeping services. In 2017, she was the keynote speaker on evidence-based simulation practices at the N.C Council of Practical Nurse Educators Conference and presented at the NC Lactation Consultant Breastfeeding Summit. Waddill received the NCNA Mary Lewis Wyche Fellowship Award in 2017 and the American Health Council Best in Nursing Award.
