Christy Simmerman: MSN, RN, Lecturer

Christy SimmermanChristy Simmerman began her nursing career as a staff RN on an Antepartum/Mother-Baby/Women’s unit at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where she also served as a role model and preceptor for student nurses. In 2009, she accepted a position with New Hanover Regional Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Simmerman began working at UNCW in 2011 as a Clinical Instructor in the community and hospital setting for the Nursing 401 course in Pediatrics. She was brought on full time in 2015, and now instructs several courses in the RN-BSN online program. Simmerman serves on several SON committees including the Health Summit Committee, Orientation Task Force Committee, and the Testing Committee.
