Marie DawkinsDr. Marie W. Dawkins received her BSN from University of North Carolina Wilmington and began her career working as a staff nurse in the Emergency Department. She later transitioned into the position of clinical nurse educator and then as a manager, all in emergency nursing. Prior to returning to emergency nursing education, she assisted a hospital with transitioning electronic medical records. She graduated with a dual Master’s in Health Administration and Nursing from the University of Phoenix and later obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice in a post-Master’s leadership program from University of North Carolina Greensboro.

Dr. Dawkins has taught clinicals in ADN and BSN programs and is a faculty member for the Emergency Nurses Association Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum. She is interested in working with nursing students transitioning to practice, health policy, and hospital-based educators.
