A charity game being held at access miracle field

ACCESS of Wilmington / Miracle Field

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes everyone is a winner.

The University of North Carolina Wilmington and Accessible Coastal Carolina Events Sports and Services (ACCESS) made everyone a winner at the Miracle Field on May, 17 2014 when they signed a memorandum of agreement formalizing their relationship.

ACCESS provides accessible recreational activities to people with disabilities. This 33,000-square-foot baseball field is home to Wilmington's Miracle League, which gives individuals with disabilities of all ages the opportunity to play baseball.

Under the partnership, UNCW's recreation therapy students will gain real-world experience learning how to interact with individuals with all ability ranges and ages. Additionally, they will apply the research they study in class. This will bring best practices to Miracle League participants while enhancing the students' learning.
