Alexia Franzidis, Ph.D., Associate Professor

Alexia FranzidisAlexia Franzidis, Ph.D., teaches courses related to Tourism, Hospitality, and Events Management. Her main area of research focuses on the role of tourism as a development strategy particularly in less economically developed areas, and she is interested in tourism initiatives that involve and benefit the local community. Her other research interests include tourism and health, the economic impacts of tourism, and the benefits of leisure activities. Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Franzidis worked in a number of tourism businesses, ranging from hotel operations to large-scale events, in the United Kingdom and Australia.
