CHHS Appoints New Director for School of Nursing

4/19: CHHS is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Linda Haddad as the new Director and Irwin Belk Distinguished Professor of Nursing for the School of Nursing.

Haddad brings more than 30 years of leadership, research and practice experience in academic and clinical nursing.  She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Masters of Nursing Science from the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jordan University. Most recently, she served in the CHHS School of Nursing as associate director for graduate programs and the University of Florida’s College of Nursing as associate dean for academic affairs. 

Haddad is a productive scholar with a prolific portfolio of publications. Her research focuses on tobacco cessation among minority groups, and her background is in community and public health nursing. Haddad is a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, as well as a member of the Society on Research for Nicotine and Tobacco, Sigma Theta Tau International and the Board of Commissioners for the National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation.

“Dr. Haddad possesses a collaborative and consultative leadership style that has helped her build relationships all over the world,” CHHS Dean Charles Hardy said. “I am confident that her professional style and experience will allow her to provide strong leadership for our School of Nursing and throughout our College of Health and Human Services.”
