Pre-Award Grant Specialist Chosen to be Applied Learning Fellow

06/19 – In June, Pre-Award Grant Specialist Althea Lewis was chosen to be an Applied Learning Fellow through the Office of Applied Learning for the 2019-20 academic year.

In this role, Lewis will work collaboratively with the director and associate director of applied learning to plan and implement programming for campus stakeholders, including support grant funded initiatives such as the Summer Institute and other various workshops.

“Serving as an Applied Learning Fellow is a huge honor,” Lewis said. “As I seek to expand my knowledge of applied learning and strengthen professional relationships, serving as an Initiatives Fellow will allow me to participate in a range of activities to achieve these professional goals.”

Lewis first learned about the opportunity through SWOOP. After reading about the various fellowships available, she thought the Initiatives Fellow position would be an excellent opportunity to expand her current skillset.

Lewis said she is grateful to be chosen to serve in this role and for the full support of her supervisor, Justine Reel, associate dean of research and innovation.
