CHHS Welcomes Academic Affairs Operations Specialist

CHHS Welcomes Heather Roughton as the new Academic Affairs Operations Specialist within the College’s Academic Affairs Operations Team.

In this role, Roughton will provide comprehensive student services and academic affairs operations support throughout the College. Specifically, she will assume primary responsibility for process and procedure implementation around academic affairs operations, including curriculum processes and approval; academic course scheduling; student retention and progression; enrollment management; and other academic processes and procedures critical for ensuring success of our academic programs and our students.

Roughton received her Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in professional writing from UNCW in 2013. Over the last three years, she worked for the UNCW Career Center as the jobs and credentials coordinator, where she facilitated student, alumni and employer access to UNCW’s online job portal and referred students to appropriate career services and resources. Prior to joining the Career Center, she gained four years of experience in multiple aspects of independent pharmacy, including Medicare billing compliance, operations and inventory management. She is currently completing a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Science and Medical Writing at UNCW.
