Shaw Selected for Leadership Institute

October 12, 2022 - Sheri Shaw, assistant dean for student success in the College of Health and Human Services, was selected for the 2022-2023 Weekend Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) Leadership Institute in Boston.

Sheri ShawThe HERS Leadership Institute (HLI) is a transformational leadership development program for women in higher education, founded to fill leadership pipelines across the United States with dynamic women capable of ushering their respective institutions into a more inclusive and equitable future. The institute is hosted in a variety of methods, including a nine-day summer intensive version and a weekend version comprising of four weekends throughout the academic year, to best serve participants’ needs. Sixty-nine emerging higher education leaders from across the United States will participate in the institute.

Shaw says of the news, “I have heard such great things about HERS from fellow colleagues and peers in the Academy. I look forward to the professional development opportunity and the opportunity to bring back new ideas to shape and support CHHS and the overall campus community,” she said.

This year's HERS Leadership Institute theme, Bold Leadership: Inclusive Transformation, mirrors the theme of the HERS 50th Anniversary. In 2022-2023, HERS celebrates 50 years of executing its mission of creating and sustaining a diverse community of women leaders through leadership development programs and other strategies, with a commitment to achieving equity, inclusivity, and excellence in higher education.
