CHHS Welcomes New Research Grant Administrator

6/20 – Richard Huse has joined the CHHS as the research grant administrator for the college.

In his new role, Huse works with the Research and Innovation team as a post-award specialist with an emphasis on budget monitoring and management. He supports faculty on the pre-award side with proposal development activities for both internal and external grants. He is responsible for proposal development support, budget modifications and account reporting. Additionally, he is the liaison to the UNCW Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC) office for proposal submissions; budget allocation; and the migration of the current grant management system from RAMSeS to the new system, InfoEd.

Huse received his Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from UNCW in 2015. Shortly after graduation, he founded an aquaculture-based biotechnology startup and was awarded 2016 Coastal Entrepreneur of the Year for the field of biotechnology and was named 2018 Global Aquaculture Alliance 30 Under 30. He has worked with SPARC as a program and technical support specialist on the implementation team for InfoEd Global.

"CHHS has an energy like no other community I have been a part of,” Huse said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to assist in fueling innovation."
