Expanding Knowledge and Skills with Technology and Substance Use Disorders Treatment and Recovery

In honor of Social Work Month, we are pleased to offer this FREE virtual seminar with the assistance of the local chapter of National Association of Social Workers.

This innovative training will include some of the latest as well as widely recognized tools for the assessment and treatment of Substance Use Disorders. Designed to enhance the curriculum in the School of Social Work, required of students within the Substance Use Disorders and Addictions Program and is also open to students, Field Instructors, Faculty and community partners with interest in substance use treatment and recovery. 

Speakers are:

  • Brian Williamson, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, CCS, part-time faculty, UNCW
  • Donald McDonald, MSW, RCP, behavioral health recovery consultant, DMcDRecovery

Topics include the application of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, Ethics in treatment and recovery with Substance Use Disorders, the use of apps for prevention and recovery support, Social Media and Future Trends in Technology and Substance Use.
