Facilities
The Chemical Instrumentation Facility (CheIF) is a shared instrument facility located in Dobo Hall and the Center for Marine Science administered by the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. The mission of the facility is to provide state-of-the-art major analytical instruments to support research projects from principle investigators, graduate students and undergraduate students at UNCW in the areas of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), spectrophotometry and others fields. We train students and researchers to use our instruments. Although CheIF is administered by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, CheIF welcomes all researchers and students from different colleges. There are three permanent staff members who provide instrument training, maintenance and repair to CheIF.

For more information about how we can assist you, please drop by or e-mail one of the CheIF staff members directly. The NMR and MS facilities are locked at all time. Keys will be given to those people who have trained.
