Chemical Instrumentation Facility (CheIF)

The Chemical Instrumentation Facility (CheIF) is a shared instrument facility located in Dobo Hall administered by the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. The mission of the facility is to provide state-of-the-art major analytical instruments to support research projects from principle investigators, graduate students, undergraduate students at UNCW in the areas of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), spectrophotometry and others fields. We train students and researchers to use our instruments. Although CheIF is administered by Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, CheIF welcomes all researchers and students from different colleges. There are three permanent staff members who provide instrument training, maintenance, and repair to CheIF.
