Handshake: Your New Online Career Management System

Handshake is the leading online career platform used at over 500 colleges and more than 250,000 employers.
Handshake replaced UNCW's former system SeaWork in Summer 2018. This new platform will allow the Career Center to better target career information, internships, employment opportunities, and career-related events to students based on major, degree type, and interests.
See below for more information to help students, alumni, on-campus departments and employers prepare for this new and improved career management portal.
Students
Used by all Fortune 500 companies, Handshake allows you to discover and favorite jobs at top financial institutions, cutting edge tech firms, leading design and marketing agencies, nonprofits making the world a better place, and more. You can also receive personal recommendations based on your interests, skills, major, location preferences and search history.
In addition to being the place where you can search and apply for internships, part-time, and full-time jobs, you can also use Handshake to:
- Upload a resume and complete your online career profile
- Allow your online career profile and resume to be viewable by employers
- View upcoming career fairs, events and attending employers
- Research contact information for local and national employers
Student Login:
- All active students have an account created for them at the start of the semester
- To access your account, log in through MySeaPort or uncw.joinhandshake.com/login
- Enter in your UNCW email and password, or use the blue single sign-on button
- Now you can begin exploring thousands of opportunities that are tailored to your interests!
Federal Work Study Eligible Students:

Alumni
Alumni Login:
- Register for an personal alumni account on https://uncw.joinhandshake.com/register
- Use your personal email when creating your account. Do not use the single sign-on button, as you no longer have access to your UNCW email address.
- Once you have entered in your personal email, click on "log in using email and password" and then click "set your password"
- A team member from the Career Center will approve your alumni request- then you can begin exploring thousands of opportunities that are tailored to your interests!
If you're an Alumni & Employer:
- If you are a UNCW alumni, and would like to recruit students for your company or organization, you can also create an employer account.
- To connect your alumni account to an employer account, follow these instructions.
- If your company or organization does not already have a company page set up in Handshake, follow the directions in the "For Employers" section below.

UNCW Staff & Departments
All UNCW Departments that wish to recruit Student Workers or Graduate Assistants through Handshake must create a "Company Page" for their department. Please follow the instructions on the links provided below.
If you know that your department already has an existing company page on Handshake and you need to be added as a team member, please contact the Career Center at careercenter@uncw.edu .
