CSB SPD Tip of the Month!

tip of the month

Show Your Appreciation

Do you want to make a good and lasting impression with your future potential employer and display appropriate business etiquette? Be sure to show your appreciation. When you finish an interview, at any stage in the interview process, send a thank you note to your interviewers. This can be an email (suggested in the initial stages of the interview process) or even something handwritten. These words of gratitude go a long way and help to further express your sincere interest in a position. When possible, be specific. Send personalized notes to everyone on the hiring committee with whom you spoke. If you do not have the individual contact information, you can always reach out to the recruiter who has been in touch with you to get the correct information or to send the notes to the appropriate individuals on your behalf. Indicate that you were paying attention and listening well. You can accomplish this by using the note to highlight what you enjoyed learning during the interview and what most excites you about the role.  Finally, send the note soon after the interview, and be sure that your note is grammatically correct and error free. This final impression may be just what you need to seal the deal.
