Assistant Professor - Biological Oceanography

The Department of Biology and Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in biological oceanography beginning in August 2020.

Facilities and resources at UNCW can support research from molecular to ecosystem levels of investigation. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute broadly to the Department’s teaching mission at both the graduate and undergraduate level in core areas of biological oceanography and marine biology, and to departmental and university service.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a related field, as well as demonstrated success at securing external funding; postdoctoral experience is preferred. Successful applicants will be expected to maintain a vigorous, extramurally-funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students.

Assistant Professor - Ecotoxicology

The Department of Biology and Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Ecotoxicology, beginning in August 2020. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a related field and post-doctoral experience. Successful applicants will be expected to contribute to teaching Toxicology or Endocrinology, supporting our pre-health curriculum and/or other courses depending on individual expertise, as well as to departmental and university service. Successful candidates will also be expected to maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students.

Assistant Professor - Integrative Biology

The Department of Biology and Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Integrative Biology with an emphasis on Neuroscience beginning in August 2020. Desired areas of expertise within the broad umbrella of Neuroscience include, but are not limited to, Developmental Biology, Endocrinology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Immunology, and Comparative Physiology. Resources and facilities will support research from molecular to ecosystem levels of organization.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses that support a growing emphasis in Human Biology (including a minor in Neuroscience), as well as to develop upper level courses related to his/her research expertise. Successful applicants also will be expected to maintain a vigorous, extramurally-funded research program involving graduate and undergraduate students. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience.

Full Time Lecturer - Genetics

The Department of Biology and Marine Biology at The University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a full-time lecturer to contribute to the teaching of high-enrollment undergraduate genetics lecture course and coordination of genetics lab beginning in August 2020.

The successful candidate may also develop additional courses and applied learning experiences as determined by candidate strengths and departmental needs, and will be expected to take an active role in departmental service.
