The mission of the Abrons Student Health Center (SHC) is to provide student-centered, affordable, quality health and preventive care to UNCW students. 

Our goal is to help students stay as healthy as possible so that they can fully engage in and out of the classroom. We see ourselves as a key component of student success here on campus.

Appointments The Student Health Center works on an appointment system. Please call 910-962-3280 to make an appointment. We strive to see students the same day they call. Appointments
Services In addition to routine and preventive care, students can also make an appointment for physicals, immunization appointments, allergy injections, men’s and women’s health visits, and STI visits. Services

COVID INFORMATION

COVID Positive: The current CDC guidance is to isolate while feeling sick and/or having a fever greater than 100.4 degrees. Once symptoms have been improving for 24 hours AND you have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication, you may return to class and/or work. Once you return to class and/or work you must wear a mask for the next five (5) days when around others.

COVID Exposure: Test five days after date of last exposure, or sooner if symptomatic.

COVID Testing for Students:  Students who are symptomatic or have been exposed to someone with COVID can call 910-962-3280 to make an appointment for a COVID test. COVID tests are $5.

Testing for Faculty and Staff: We encourage faculty and staff who are symptomatic to contact their primary care physician for testing.

At home COVID tests are available for sale at the UNCW Pharmacy.
