Feb. 9, 2021

On February 8, UNCW launched a COVID-19 surveillance-testing program to supplement the robust health and safety measures already in place on campus to reduce the spread of the virus.

Sign Up for Testing Appointments
Faculty, staff and contractors, especially those who are working on campus, are highly encouraged to be tested. We ask that you sign up for a testing appointment by using this
link. Currently the link has dates through February, and we will extend that into March later this month. You are welcome to sign up based on when you will be on campus, as often as weekly.

Testing will occur in the Mac Gym at the Student Rec Center – enter from Walton Drive. Appointments are available Monday through Friday. Employees, please bring your UNCW IDs to the testing site.

Additional Information
If you have tested positive in the last 90 days, you will not need to test again until 90 days has passed from your original test.
If you were tested off campus and have not already informed the Student Health Center of your positive result, please email us at

If you have any questions, please email Please include “Surveillance Testing” in the subject line and a phone number in the body of the email.

Surveillance testing is one more tool to help keep campus safer this semester. The 3Ws remain important tools as well – wear a face covering indoors and outdoors unless you are alone, wait six feet apart from others, and wash your hands frequently. The physical spacing of furniture in campus buildings, limits on the size of gatherings, and extensive campus cleaning regimens will remain in place for the foreseeable future. As a reminder, North Carolina is currently under a stay-at-home order in effect between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. daily.

Thank you for helping the fight against COVID-19!
