Best for the Nest

Based on guidance from our environmental health and safety experts in conjunction with guidelines and recommendations from local, state and federal experts, UNCW previously suspended in-person events, including youth camps, cultural arts activities and athletics. The university is offering many virtual experiences, including online youth campus, curbside cinema showcases, podcasts and more. Please see the resources below for additional information. This site will be updated with revised guidance about campus events as information becomes available.

In accordance with campus health and safety protocols, UNCW has developed general guidelines that provide an overview of the university’s approach to campus events and activities for the Fall 2020 semester. Please review the guidelines here

Class of 2020 Commencement Ceremonies
The university is eager to honor UNCW’s spring, summer and fall 2020 graduates with special virtual ceremonies on Dec. 12. UNCW had hoped to host these events in person, but even Trask Coliseum, our largest arena, doesn’t include enough space for our graduates and their families and friends to safely gather while also meeting physical distancing guidelines. Rest assured that we have some great plans underway to make the Class of 2020 commencement celebration unforgettable. Please see our commencement website for more information.
