PLS 434 Nonprofit Leadership Experience
This course teaches students about leadership and management in organizations. Class sessions are stimulating with many guest speakers form the nonprofit community; sessions with community leaders feature student networking and receptions. Students apply their learning in projects they complete for local nonprofit organizations during the summer. The skills students acquire in this class -- managing human resources, promoting and marketing, creating an organizational mission and vision, etc. -- are highly useful and transferable regardless of whether you decide to work in business, government, or a nonprofit. The course concludes with a Student Project Poster session attended by members of the nonprofit and University communities.
