Trolley to Mayfaire, Sunday Aug 18, 12pm - 5pm

Mayfaire Town Center is rolling out the teal carpet for UNCW students! Participating Mayfaire stores and restaurants will offer special discounts for UNCW students with valid UNCW One Cards. Don’t have a car and need to do some shopping? Don’t worry. Catch the UNCW Trolley for FREE every 30 minutes at Wagoner Hall, Graham Hewlett, or Belk/Galloway.

Late Night Teal Deals @ UNCW Bookstore, Sunday Aug 18, 7pm - 10pm

The bookstore will be open exclusively for new UNCW students. Take a photo in our photo booth and enjoy exclusive “Teal Deals” discounts which include sale items as low as $4.99! We will raffle off prizes throughout the night, and you could win even more discounts and prizes by playing the different games we’ll have throughout the store. Light refreshments will be provided.

UNCW @ Target Night, Sunday Aug 18, 10pm - 1am

Forgot to pack something? Climb aboard a free shuttle at Wagoner Hall, Graham-Hewlett or Belk/Galloway to Target. Target will be open exclusively for UNCW students and will feature vendors with free samples, coupons and giveaways. They will showcase a DJ, games, and students can enter to win a grand-prize drawing for an exclusive item. You don’t want to miss this!

Last year, more than 2,000 students participated. Experience this one-time night in Target when Seahawks are the only people in the store, and dance and shop!

UNCW Executive Chef Wins “Mystery Basket” Cooking Challenge

MONDAY, JULY 29, 2019 - UNCW Executive Chef Ryan Andress’ four-course meal impressed a panel of judges with his use of 16 “mystery basket” ingredients to take first place and a gold medal in an Aramark-sponsored competition in Austin, Texas.

Aramark organized the ACE (Aramark Culinary Excellence) Competition for chefs at the universities where it operates dining facilities, including UNCW. Andress previously won the Southern regional competition, earning the right to cook against the winners of the other five regional contests in Austi. (continue to full story)

UNCW’s Dub’s Cafe the First “Certified Green Restaurant” in Wilmington

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 08, 2019 - Dub’s Café, a campus dining facility at UNCW, recently became the first 3 Star Certified Green Restaurant® in Wilmington. The dining venue’s certification is yet another step i8n support of the university’s dedication to sustainability.

“UNCW, and the UNC System, have large sustainability goals,” UNCW Chief Sustainability Officer Kathryn Pohlman said. “Those goals cannot be attained without smaller, more focused achievements. Becoming a Certified Green Restaurant is a great recognition for some of these achievements like purchasing local foods, reducing energy use and increasing waste diverted from the landfill.” (continue to full story.)
