Pam Toll: Excavation
Sept. 6-Oct. 6
Artist Reception: Thurs., Oct. 6, 5:30-7 p.m.
Mining memory, dreams and present moment Pam Toll will draw obsessively
across gallery walls. The energy of idea and physical movement will propel
her, memory and stream of consciousness will provide subtext and by the closing
reception Excavation will be in the material residue of the process.
Jeff Greenham: New Works
Oct. 13-Nov. 11
Artist Reception: Thurs., Oct. 13, 5:30-7 p.m.
Jeff Greenham's work functions within the potter's tradition of acknowledging
the past and making a contribution to the ongoing history by carefully addressing,
adding, removing and re-inventing within that tradition.
Grounded in traditional forms yet influenced by modernist design, the work
often has surprising shifts in scale and a sly sense of humor, visually highlighted
through technical dexterity of ceramic chemistry, clay, glaze and firing.
Fall Senior Exhibition

The Senior Exhibition is the culmination of study in studio art. The exhibition is
juried by the studio art faculty and mounted by graduating seniors. It is the
capstone event for studio art majors.

Hoss Haley: Drawing Machine

Artist Reception: Thurs., Feb. 23, 5:30-7 p.m.
Hoss Haley (b. 1961, Dodge, Kansas) is a conceptually focused American sculptor
and painter creating and residing in Asheville, North Carolina. A Kansas
native, Haley studied blacksmithing for many years in Texas and New Mexico
before turning his focus to sculpture.
Hoss Haley carefully designs drawing machines as an extension of the hand, creating
a dialog between hand, eye and machine. In this exhibit Haley's drawing
machine is controlled by the numerical sequence of PI. Because PI is an infinite
number, the path of the machine is never the same. The exhibit will have several
completed drawings and the machine will be in operation during the opening.
