Medieval Architecture

Deirdre Moench specialize in German Medieval architecture of the 13th and 14th century. Her current interests include women in sacred space, the Cult of Saints, and the connection of Christian imagery with pagan roots. Outside the realm of medieval subjects, Moench is interested in the secret lives of artists from the 18th to 20th centuries, and has a mild fascination with Pablo Picasso.

Additionally, Moench's other area of expertise is in Library and Information Sciences. She believes that information literacy is a large component in any type of research and it is important to understand the source providing the information and thinking about it from multiple angles, not simply the side you support. She spends time researching advancements in the field of Information Literacy in hopes of discovering an easy way to help guide students through the process in order to engage them in subject and help define a valuable skill.
