Visit The UNCW Main Campus

Main Campus Tours (Updated 6/26/20)

The health and safety of our campus community is our first priority.  In order to encourage social distancing and minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our community, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions has canceled all tour-guide led campus tours and in-person admissions information sessions.  We are not able to provide a specific date as to when tour-guide led visits or in-person admissions information sessions will resume.  Please visit our website for more information on updates about the University’s response to COVID-19.  We are currently offering the following ways to explore UNCW:

Self-Guided Main Campus Tours

Admissions representatives will not be available to meet campus visitors as UNCW faculty and staff continue to telework.  However, visitors are welcome to explore UNCW's main campus on their own.  Should your family decide to visit, we encourage you to pick up a self-guided tour packet located on the outside of James Hall before you begin your walk around campus.

Remember, due to COVID-19 restrictions all UNCW buildings will be closed and locked to all individuals.  There will be no public restroom access.  Please review the UNCW Coronavirus Website to learn more about the changing campus environment.

Visitors can park in Eaton Plaza, the parking lot for James Hall.  Once you arrive, walk to the front of James Hall, and you will find self-guided tour materials located to the left of the front door:

  • UNCW Overview with Admissions information
  • UNCW Campus Map
  • Self-guided Tour Instructions
At this time, there is no registration for self-guided campus tours and we are unable to accommodate school groups.  We are not able to provide a specific date as to when tour-guide led visits or in-person admissions information sessions will resume.  Please email our office should you have additional questions admissions@uncw.edu.

Please note that the UNCW Center for Marine Science is not open to the public and is not included in the self-guided tour. We encourage you to explore the Center for Marine Science by taking advantage of our virtual tour option.
