Bailey

Teal Guide Bailey

Hey everyone! My name is Bailey and I am a senior at UNCW! I am from a smalltown just outside of Jacksonville called Richlands, North Carolina. I transferred to UNCW from Coastal Carolina Community College in the Fall 2015 semester after acquiring my Associate’s in Art degree. I am a Middle Grades Education major with my concentration in mathematics and social studies. I live in an apartment off campus and commute to school every day. I enjoy living close enough to campus that I can still participate in on campus life as a transfer student. I am a member of Tau Sigma National Honor Society, an honor society just for transfer students, and I’m looking forward to being even more involved in the opportunities this university has to offer this year. Go Seahawks!!

Brigiett

Teal Guide Brigiett

Hello, my name is Brigiett! I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, but I come from a military family, so I moved to Florida and now I live in a small town called Lillington, North Carolina. I transferred to UNCW in the fall of 2015 from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I am currently a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminal Justice, and I intend on graduating in May 2018.

I live in an on-campus apartment with three other roommates. Considering there are many different organizations that UNCW has to offer, I have taken advantage of these great opportunities and became a part of Go Passionately Serve (GPS), Centro Hispano, Intentional, Ratio Christi, and the Transfer to Teal tour program! I am also a Zeta Tau Alpha alumna. I enjoy helping feed the homeless, working out, watching movies, going to bible studies, and spending time with my dogs and family.

Kayla

Teal Guide Kayla

My name is Kayla Belk and I am a proud senior at UNCW. I was born and raised in a one stoplight town called Midland, North Carolina. I attended two years at Cape Fear Community College before transferring to UNCW as a Communication Studies major with a passion for helping others and being involved within my community.

I have returned to UNCW this fall semester after studying abroad at the University of Wollongong in Australia. While studying abroad, I was given the amazing opportunity to travel to a few countries. In the process, I taught English to a small village on the remote Fijian island, Yanuya.

I currently live off campus, I am a full-time Big Buddy and I’m involved with many volunteer organizations within the Wilmington area. As a Teal Guide, I look forward to helping transfer students become acquainted with UNCW, as previous Teal Guides did for me. I know transitioning from school to school can be difficult, so I would like to make yours as easy as possible!

Morgan

Teal Guide Morgan

Hello everyone! My name is Morgan and my hometown is Salisbury, Maryland. I was born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland. I transferred to UNCW in the fall of 2016 after getting my Associate’s degree from Wor-Wic Community College. I am currently a junior majoring in Recreational Therapy. After completing my Bachelor’s degree at UNCW, I plan to complete my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and who knows, maybe one day my Doctorate! Currently I am living on campus and I have to say it was a great choice, being new to UNCW and Wilmington in general. In my free time I enjoy volunteering with individuals with special needs. There’s nothing better than seeing an individual light up when they get something right! I’m currently involved in the Transfer to Teal tour program, and I plan on getting involved more as the year continues. UNCW has truly become my new home and I hope one day you will feel the same!

Paulina

Teal Guide Paulina

Hey everybody! My name is Paulina Cepeda and I'm a senior here at UNCW. I was born and raised on (not in) Long Island, New York and spent my first year atthe University of Buffalo. I transferred here in 2014 because if you know anything about Buffalo, it's about 30 mins from Canada and you can only imagine how cold it is! I'm currently an Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychology and I plan on graduating in December 2017.

I'm currently involved in the Transfer to Teal tour program as well as Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. I recently got a job at Bluewater Grill in Wrightsville Beach as a hostess. I was lucky enough to get a beach house this year with my best friends, so I don’t think I'm ever leaving Wilmington! If I'm not hanging out on my porch or at the beach, you can always find me out and about doing something with my dog, Brody. I look forward to meeting you all!
