Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Emergency and Disaster Management

Prepare for and Manage Disasters

You will learn to prepare for and manage disasters, coastal hazards, and international conflicts.

The program is ideal for first responders and those coordinating teams in the field during emergencies and pending disasters.

Blended Course Model

The program is based on a dual-format, blended-course model that includes face-to-face instruction, video teleconferencing and mobile access – all of which can be accessed virtually in real time or via the archives asynchronously, followed by self-paced but guided distance education.

There is one instructional block a semester spanning two to four weeks at the beginning of the fall, spring and summer semesters.

How Do I Apply?

All applicants must submit the following to the UNCW Graduate School:

  • An application for graduate admission.
  • Official transcripts of all college work (undergraduate and graduate).
  • A 500-word essay on the applicant’s goal in pursuing graduate work in conflict management and resolution.
  • Three letters of recommendation from an academic institution or the applicant’s relevant professional field.
  • Application and supplemental documents must be submitted by the published deadline.
