Are you interested in completing your degree? Our interdisciplinary studies program (available online as well as face to face!) provides a distinctive learning experience for students re-enrolling at UNCW after an absence of two or more consecutive, regular semesters.

You will receive a core liberal arts education combined with focused knowledge and skills.

The curriculum draws on prior coursework while allowing you to complete your education. Explore options such as arts and humanities, enterprise and economy, global and international studies, human well-being, science and technology, or social institutions and human behavior.

The interdisciplinary studies degree is for returning students who:
  • Want the flexibility to align their coursework with interests that may have changed while they have been away
  • Have moved away from the Wilmington area and their previous degree cannot be completed online

How Do I Apply?

You may apply to the interdisciplinary studies program if you:
  • Have earned at least 70 hours of college credit, with at least 12 hours being earned at UNCW
  • Were in good academic standing (cumulative GPA from all institutions attended is a 2.0 or better)
  • Were not enrolled at UNCW for at least the last two consecutive regular (fall, spring) semesters
  • Are not seeking a second bachelor's degree or a double major
