Doctor of Nursing Practice

UNC Wilmington's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program blends nursing science with biophysical, psychosocial, analytical, and organizational sciences to equip graduates with a deep understanding of health, healthcare delivery, and the evaluation of evidence-based interventions.

As a practice-focused doctoral degree, the DNP prepares nurses to critically analyze systems of care, drive transformational leadership, and enhance patient safety while improving the quality of culturally competent care.

Our program offers five concentrations, all delivered in a flexible, asynchronous online format. For BSN-DNP students, on-campus intensives provide additional hands-on learning opportunities. Both full-time and part-time study options are available, with individualized plans designed to meet each student’s educational goals.
