Environmental science graduate degrees are designed for professionals, practitioners, citizens and students who wish to strengthen their knowledge of the environment.
Our focus
Their multidisciplinary nature provides students with a unique balance of scientific background necessary for environmental decision-making within the context of educational, political, sociological, economic and legal frameworks.
The approach is intended to produce future and current environmental professionals with the broad perspective necessary to be effective leaders in the field.
Please contact the Graduate Coordinator Dr. Devon Eulie if you have questions or are interested in participating in the graduate program.
"My master’s degree in Environmental Studies and concentration in coastal management gives me a unique perspective when communicating spatial analyses and web tools to local stakeholders. I’m educated on the issues and concerns that often make coastal decision-makers hesitant to adopt more sustainable growth strategies.
Thus, I am equipped to help stakeholders weigh the costs and benefits of different scenarios to help them most effectively protect their coastal assets while making their communities more resilient heading into the future."
Laura Flessner, UNCW Alumni Spatial Analyst for the Global Marine Team, The Nature Conservancy
