Assurance of Learning

Assurance of Learning (AOL) at the Cameron School of Business is a clearly defined process to continually improve the learning outcomes of skills, knowledge and perspective for all business students to better prepare them for the ever changing business world in which they will work.

About AOL

The Cameron School of Business (CSB) places student learning at the forefront. The CSB mission statement clearly articulates, "Through excellence in teaching, scholarship and service, the Cameron School of Business provides students with the skills and knowledge to think critically and act responsibly in meeting global business challenges."

Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the CSB has attuned its AOL focus to the AACSB standards. Beyond continuous improvement and reaffirmation with AACSB, the CSB has a true dedication to improving the learning experience and educational acumen of all CSB students.

The CSB in conjunction with the College of Engineering and Science (Computer Science Department) offers a B.S. in Information Technology and an M.S. in Computer Science and Information Systems.

As an accredited AACSB school, the CSB uses continuous surveys, class assessments and other tools to ensure continuous improvement in learning.

AOL Standards

The CSB adheres to the following standards as defined by the AACSB:

  • Student learning is the central activity of higher education.
  • Definition of learning expectations and assurance that graduates achieve learning expectations are key features of any academic program. The learning expectations derive from a balance of internal and external contributions to the definition of educational goals.
  • Members of the business community, students and faculty members each contribute valuable perspectives on the needs of graduates. Learning goals should be set and revised at a level that encourages continuous improvement in educational programs.
