The Cape Fear Foreign Language Collaborative is an academic alliance of world language professionals. We work at all levels of the educational system to share ideas around the world language teaching profession.
This is a great opportunity for world language professionals to collaborate with one another on best practices in teaching, overcoming barriers in the field and taking professional development workshops.
About
The Cape Fear Foreign Language Collaborative (CFFLC) meetings give members an opportunity to discuss import topics like:
- Issues that affect the world language teaching profession
- Ideas for implementation in the classroom
- Sponsoring, promoting and supporting world language study and intercultural activities
- Taking part in professional development workshops
- Establishing relationships that facilitate communication among the various educational units within the geographical area
We discuss how teaching world languages for:
- Public and private institutions
- Kindergarten through 12th grade
- College level students
We focus predominately in the southeastern North Carolina counties of:
- Bladen
- Brunswick
- Columbus
- Craven
- Duplin
- Jones
- New Hanover
- Onslow
- Pender
- Sampson
Members or visitors from other nearby counties are welcome. The group meets on Saturday mornings twice a year during the academic year. Meetings are held on campus at UNCW.
Our Calendar
CFFLC Meeting Dates for 2024-2025 Academic Year: January 25 and April 5
- Meetings are held on UNCW's campus in Leutze Hall (1st floor)
- Meetings are held from 9:00am - 12:00pm
- Light refreshments are provided at 8:45am (unless otherwise announced)
- Visitors may park in Lot G (near Leutze Hall)
- All meetings are free and open to the public
