The Wilmington Fellows are Honors College students who work with campus administrators and offices to pursue major national postgraduate fellowships, scholarships, attend graduate schools and fulfilling professional careers.
Lindsey Aubuchon is from Hickory, North Carolina. She has been involved in the:
She is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry. Her long-term goal is to pursue a PhD in molecular genetics and genomics in preparation for a career in scientific research and teaching.
Meagan Colston is from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. She plans to major in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Her goal is to pursue a career in the medical field with a concentration in anesthesiology. She has a huge passion for the medical field and helping others.
She has volunteered at the local hospital in her area and even hosted her own blood drive. She chose UNCW because of the friendly atmosphere and the welcoming people here. It has always felt like home to her. Meagan hopes to continue her volunteer work in the Wilmington area and serve others throughout her time at UNCW.
She plans to become involved with different service organizations and research projects. She also plans to play club sports and join other organizations that UNCW has to offer.
During her free time. Meaghan enjoys going to the gym, traveling, playing softball and swimming. She really hopes to become scuba certified and join the dive team at UNCW.
Erica De Neef grew up in Charlotte, NC and is now a Senior Fellow at UNCW. She is pursuing two majors in Communication Studies and International Studies, with a Spanish minor and a concentration in Globalization.
In the Spring of 2020, she studied abroad in Santiago, Chile and had the best time immersing herself in the Spanish language, learning about the rich culture of Chile, and traveling throughout the country.
She recently finished an internship at Manos Unidas, an organization that provides health education and services to farmworkers in Southeast NC. She will graduate in December of 2021.
Scott is from Randolph, New Jersey and he's very excited to be at UNCW. He plans on majoring in Coastal Engineering. He wants to be involved in the surf team as well as other organizations at UNCW. Anytime Scott isn't on campus, he'll probably be at the beach surfing.
Nolan Frost was born in Raleigh, NC and grew up in Murphy, TX and Wake Forest, NC. He found passions for business and technology through his middle and high school careers and his job experiences. He plans to double major in Computer Science and Business Administration.
Nolan recently created his own digital marketing business called Frost Marketing Group using the knowledge that he obtained through his senior project on digital marketing. The time he spent as the president of his high school's DECA business and marketing club has also aided in his endeavors.
Nolan's dream is to use the knowledge and skills he obtains in his education to start a successful technology company. He is hoping to play club sports at UNCW and is looking forward to making new life-long friends and connections!
Brenna Hutchings is from Spruce Pine, NC, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She is a member of the UNCW Honors College and is majoring in Marine Biology.
Brenna participated in the FYRE program as a freshman and has continued conducting research on native and non-native ascidian communities in NC with her research mentor, Dr. Susanna López-Legentil, in the iMESA Lab at the Center for Marine Science.

Brenna plans to publish her research in Estuaries and Coasts upon completing her Honors Thesis in Spring 2021. She will be working in Wilmington before pursuing her Graduate degree.
Originally from Huntersville, North Carolina, Gia Lash recently graduated from the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM), a public boarding school in Durham, NC. She plans on majoring in Communication Studies with minors in Journalism and Environmental Studies. She is looking forward to being involved in various cultural clubs, The Plastic Ocean Project and the Catholic Campus Ministry.
During her four years at UNCW, she also hopes to serve her hall community as a Resident Assistant, study abroad and experience a new culture, write for The Seahawk, and learn how to surf.
Quite fittingly, Sidney Wollmuth discovered UNCW while flipping through college books in the resource section of a beach bookstore. Being a native of Northern Virginia, she’d never heard of Wilmington, North Carolina. However, one stroll around campus was all it took for her to feel something click.
She intends on double majoring in English and Creative Writing and looks forward to getting involved in UNCW’s publications. She’s also eager to work with mental health awareness organizations on campus and study abroad in as many places as her bank account will take her.
