Agnes R. Beane, a resident of Wilmington, NC, was reappointed in 2019 to the UNCW Board of Trustees by the UNC Board of Governors to serve a second term ending in 2023.
She currently serves as a member of the External Affairs Committee, and the Educational Planning and Programs Committee.
Beane, managing director of Beane Wright Partners, a real estate holding company, holds a J.D. from the University of the Pacific School of Law. She also obtained a master's degree in international law and taxation from the University of Salzburg and a bachelor's degree from Duke University.
Currently, Beane serves as a trustee with the Cape Fear Memorial Foundation and the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at UNC-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is a member of the Eisenhower Fellowships President's Council. Her previous civic engagements include Wilmington Business Development and Wachovia Eastern Regional boards.
