Founding Dean Charles J. Hardy Transitions from Administration to Faculty

Dear Campus Community,

I write to share the announcement of Founding Dean Charles J. Hardy’s decision to step away from the dean role in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and transition to the faculty, effective July 1. While I am very happy for Charlie and this next chapter in his distinguished career, I know his leadership will be greatly missed. 

Please join me in heartily thanking and congratulating Charlie for the incredible legacy his health and human services work has given our university and CHHS. We recently reflected on Charlie’s journey with UNCW since arriving in July 2011, which I invite you to read about in this university news item:

Information regarding an internal search for an interim dean of CHHS will be communicated to the Division of Academic Affairs soon. Following the search, the interim dean is scheduled to begin July 1, 2022. Again, please join my office in thanking Charlie for his outstanding service and his continual efforts to make UNCW – and our state – a better place.
