Give your child the joy of reading with our dramatic play program, Literacy Live. Children (ages 4-7) develop reading comprehension skills while acting out stories using simple costumes, sets and props. The stories are selected from critically reviewed literature featuring specific themes. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations, personal experiences and creativity to recreate the stories and demonstrate comprehension. The themes are also integrated into other fun activities such as science, math, art and music. We offer Saturday programs and summer camps.
Spring 2015 Saturday Programs
All programs are free but registration is required. Children (ages 4-7) must be accompanied by an adult. Programs will be held in the Education Building from 1:00-3:00 pm.
Saturday, March 28th: Please join us for Literacy Live from the Magnetic Zone. Did you realize that magnets are all around us? Join us at Literacy Live in April where we will learn where magnets are hiding in the world and how useful they are to all of us. We can even rescue recycled materials with them!
