Give your child the joy of reading with our dramatic play program, Literacy Live. Children (ages 4-7) develop reading comprehension skills while acting out stories using simple costumes, sets and props. The stories are selected from critically reviewed literature featuring specific themes. Children are encouraged to use their imaginations, personal experiences and creativity to recreate the stories and demonstrate comprehension. The themes are also integrated into other fun activities such as science, math, art and music. We offer Saturday programs and summer camps.
Fall 2015 Saturday Programs
All programs are free but registration is required. Children (ages 4-7) must be accompanied by an adult. Programs will be held in the Education Building from 1:00-3:00 pm.
Saturday, September 12th: Join us for Literacy Live from the Measuring Tape. You might get splashed as you leap into this Literacy Live program and learn how to measure liquid volume! Enjoy hands-on learning stations at which you will learn how to measure the weight and length of some fun objects by using unusual units. Create a take home massing device. Even more fun, we will have lively literature creatures join us as we get moving into the wonderful world of measurement.
