"I am a Senior, Communication Studies major with a Women and Gender studies minor. I am involved on campus through the Women’s Studies Resource Office, the Iota Iota Iota Women’s Studies Honor Society and as the President of the Women’s Studies Student Association. Additionally, I participate in volunteerism for the greater Wilmington community, specifically through events such the Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons' annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fund-raiser and the on-campus performances of The Vagina Monologues.I consider myself extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to engage in feminist activism in an effort to promote gender equality and social justice for all," Lauren, 2013.

"I've traced both my passion and successes to Women's Studies. Ever since I took my first Introduction class, it led me interning with the Rape Crisis Center, The Vagina Monologues, founding the Women's Studies Student Association, among other things. Without it, I would not have the opportunity to do all these amazing things and live the experiences which have molded who I am today. I owe that to the WSRC," Lisa Huynh, 2012
Marketing Director, Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood, and former intern at Ms. Magazine
"I feel incredibly blessed to be working for an organization that aids and empowers women and families. I know that my WMS courses at UNCW have expanded my way of thinking, looking, and understanding. I am very grateful that I can put this knowledge to use in the workplace,” Heather, 2010
